Week 5: Response to "Cultural Paradigms"

I like this quote because it is related to our topic of cultural paradigms. According to Tsiopinis, Nikolaos A. (Nikos, 2005) cultural paradigms are all-embracing 'ways of life' whereby communities are given shape. At the same time, these paradigms remain fluid enough to allow for diffusion and penetration of the "other" and even pollination by the other; what we also call affinity to relate. Thus, individuals can experience the collective validation of living and think with a paradigm that also embraced the truth by others, while contributing to the evolution and expansion of this description of truth.

I like the quote in of Elliot Eisner "Not everything that matter can be measured, and not everything that is measured matters. because it is related to our topic of cultural paradigms. Ivers, a professor at BYUI said that"paradigms differ immensely from culture to culture like," people have different ideas and concepts could differ from culture to culture. as ESL teachers we need to consider the cultural background of our students and consider their cultural inherited. Contextual factors play a critical role as mediators of a cognitive process. During the video "Cultural Paradigms" professor Ivers taught "education is awash in the sea of boredom, and professor need to do everything they can do to make the material interesting and engaging and professors need to have an interesting delivery of material."

Chomsky argues that language acquisition is an innate structure or function on the human brain. he believes that children are born with the inherited skill to learn and pick up any language. However, we live in a culture that has meritocracy paradigms and most cultures do actually, we live in a meritocracy and meritocracy says things need to be earned. This idea could be cruel if we do not keep in mind that Heavenly Father sent us to this earth to walk by faith and progress. During our journal in this earth, we are exposed to learn in a diverse manner. Parents teach their children differently and they gain different paradigms. God gives us different talents as we can see in D & C 46:11-15 "for all have not even gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the spirit of God. For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the spirit of God. To some is given another, that all may be profited thereby. to some, it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he was crucified for this sins of the world. To others, it is given to believe on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful, and again, to some, it is given by the Holy Ghost to know the differences of administration, as it will be pleasing unto the same Lord, according to as the Lord will, suiting his mercies according to the conditions of the children of men.
